Lots of activity happened at the Upper School this summer. All of the major structural wood framing wrapped up at the end of the month. Utility work in the roundabout between Wissner and Gracemont was ongoing in preparation for the new generator installation and hook-up. Mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire (MEPF) progressed through Level 1 and began moving up to Level 2. The end of the month brought the first delivery of fiberglass windows to the project.
Later this summer permanent power will be delivered to the site. The building will begin to get buttoned-up as the various exterior materials will start to be installed, including metal siding, brick veneer, composite metal panels, and windows. The inside of the building will also get sealed-up as the installation of the interior air barrier begins. This air barrier will aid the building in achieving its very efficient “Passive House rating.”
