Head of School Percy L. Abram recently gave a virtual tour of the New Upper School Building for the annual State of The Bush School address. Please click here to hear more about this exciting project, see all of the progress made on the building, and learn plans for the future.
Lots of great progress was made in May! Wood arrived on-site and the level 1 framing wrapped-up at the end of the month with the installation of the level 2 Mass Plywood Panels (MPP). The basement level concrete floor received a partial polish and the board-form walls at the west entry were stripped to reveal the final finish. Metal framing and insulation work began in the Multi-Purpose Room while HVAC equipment began arriving on-site. The mechanical, electrical, and plumbing trades were able to begin their work down in the basement as well.
For the month of June there will be multiple site logistic activities scheduled for the project. The biggest event will be the replacement of the generator between Wissner and Gracemont. The new generator will serve all 3 buildings with work lasting from the beginning of the month into mid-July. During this time, there will be restricted access to the area. Inside the building, the level 2 concrete topping slab will be poured, and wood framing will continue up to the roof. Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection installation will continue as well.
